opsira GmbH is certified by the DEKRA Certification GmbH according to the standard ISO 9001:2015.
The scope of certification includes the development and manufacture of light measurement systems, optical development services, measurements in the light laboratory and on site, calibration services, and trade with optical semi-finished products.
Growing success based on the long-lasting partnership with KUKA, one of the world's leading suppliers of intelligent, robot-based automation solutions. opsira robogonio series relies on KUKA.
opsira is pleased to announce that Volker Schumacher received one of the most prestigious honors in the film industry, a Scientific and Engineering Award from Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) for the optical development of the ARRIMAX 18/12 HMI.
The ARRIMAX combines the variable beam spread of a Fresnel and the light output of a PAR, and uses a unique reflector concept for beam control that eliminates the need for spread lenses. AMPAS notes, “With its choice of vari-focus and specular reflectors, the superior optical and mechanical design of this lighting fixture allows it to operate at 18,000 watts, producing unsurpassed light quality while its innovative cooling system keeps the housing safe to touch.”
AMPAS distinguished Volker Schumacher, CEO opsira GmbH and Head of the Optical Engineering Group, for the optical concept, optical development, simulations and optimisation, Erwin Melzner, Head of Research & Development of Arnold & Richter Cine Technik GmbH (ARRI), for the overall concept and product development. Timo Mueller, Product Manager Location Lighting of ARRI was credited for the concept and mechanical design.
Volker Schumacher received the Award together with the project partners Erwin Melzner and Timo Mueller, staff members of the ARRI company in Germany. Not since 2004 has an AMPAS Scientific and Technical award been given for advancement in lighting equipment. The Award in the form of an Academy Plaque was officially presented to the three honorees during a ceremony at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, CA on Feb. 7, 2009.
